Eclipse Viewing Family Fun Festival
Sat, Oct 14th 7am - 12pm
Reedsport Community Center 451 Winchester Ave Reedsport, OR 97467

The Reedsport Church of God will have a booth at the Eclipse Viewing on Saturday, October 14th. Be sure to swing by and say hi! Here's the full event: Join the City of Reedsport for a fun filled weekend as we celebrate the ECLIPSE VIEWING FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL on October 13th & 14th. Reedsport will be one of the first areas in the U.S. where we will be able to experience the spectacular 2023 Annular Solar Eclipse. This natural phenomenon will display a Ring of Fire in the sky as the moon passes between the sun and earth. The moon will be farther away from earth, therefore it will not cover the sun completely but it will create a ring of fire around the uncovered portion of the sun. In Reedsport, we will experience the eclipse trajectory beginning just after 8:00 am. The complete Ring of Fire is expected to be at its maximum at 9:18 am, and the final phase will end at approximately 10:38 am. Please make sure to use proper eye protection with ISO solar filters when viewing the eclipse. Due to a forecast of rain, the Reedsport Main Street Program's Eclipse Viewing Family Fun Festival will be held Saturday only, October 14th, from 7am to 12pm in the Reedsport Community Center. The Lower Umpqua Senior Center will have eclipse glasses available at the event as a fundraiser. There's still a chance to step out and see the eclipse, so make sure you bring an umbrella or rain coat. Other activities will include: games & prizes for kids, "Color the Sun" bounce house, "Learn & See" with the Lower Umpqua Library, a vendor market, "try out a violin" for all ages compliments of Beautiful Savior School (with a special performance at 11am), live music from 10am to noon, and a live remote with the KDUN Team. Visit the Reedsport Church of God's booth for popcorn and a craft project!
