Fri, Dec 13th 10:30am - 12:30pm
Reedsport Church of God 2191 Birch Ave. Reedsport, OR 97467

Join us at the church on Friday, December 13th, from 10am to noon to learn more about how to participate with Safe Families for Children. Safe Families for Children seeks to bring the church and community together to keep children safe and families together. Safe Families for Children is rooted in faith, fueled by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion, to build a network of caring and compassionate volunteers to support families facing social isolation. Our goal is to support and strengthen families, prevent child abuse and neglect, and reduce the number of children unnecessarily entering the child welfare system. The three objectives of Safe Families for Children are: Keep children safe during a family crisis such as homelessness, hospitalization, or domestic violence in an effort to prevent child abuse and/or neglect. Support, stabilize, and strengthen families facing crisis by surrounding them with caring, compassionate community. Reunite families and reduce the number of children entering the child welfare system. We seek to be an alternative to foster care, where appropriate.
