Christmas Choir Practice

No matter your age or skill level, you are welcome to join us to sing our two songs for this year's Christmas Eve services.
We'll provide you with part-dominant recordings to help you learn your part, even if you don't read music. Come to as many practices as you are able. Here is our practice schedule (all practices are 7pm to 8pm unless otherwise stated):

Luma Thanksgiving Dinner
When: November 23rd, 12pm to 1:30pm
Where: Senior Center, 460 Winchester Ave, Reedsport
You are invited to the Lower Umpqua Senior Center on Thanksgiving day to enjoy a community dinner sponsored by LUMA, the Lower Umpqua Ministerial Association. Everyone is welcome!
The LUMA Thanksgiving Dinner is a free annual meal hosted by the churches of Reedsport for anyone who would like to share a home-cooked family-style meal with others in our community. Deliveries are available for those who are homebound. . Please call 541-271-3928 to request a delivery.
If you are willing to volunteer, we'll have sign-ups to help serve food, drive deliveries, and clean up. Please check the info in the church lobby or contact the church directly at info@rchog.org or 541-271-3928.
Reedsport's Tree Lighting Ceremony
When: Saturday, November 25th, 5pm to 6pm
Where: Lions Park, 150 N 20th Street, Reedsport
Join the Reedsport Main Street Program for an evening of cookies, community, and holiday cheer! Singers from our church will help lead the caroling as we build up to the moment when the lights of the city tree are turned on. Feel free to dress up, Santa hats and glow sticks and all! We'll be in Lions Park rain or shine. We hope to see you there!
Hanging of the Greens
When: Sunday, November 26th, 4pm to 6pm
Where: Reedsport Church of God, 2191 Birch Ave, Reedsport
Come help us decorate our church for Christmas! We'll enjoy cookies and cider as we put up all the lights and greenery and make the building look great. It's an opportunity to show your love for our space while also kicking off the Advent season together!
Jingle on the Bay Festival
When: Saturday, all day December 2nd, caroling at 6:30pm
Where: Caroling in the Marina Activity Center, 263 Marina Way, Winchester Bay
The Reedsport Church of God has been invited to lead carols for this year's first-ever Jingle on the Bay Festival in Winchester Bay. Here is the schedule:
10am-2pm: QR Code Scavenger Hunt
10am-4pm: Shop the Merchants
4pm: Santa arrives at T Dock
4pm-4:30pm: Santa and ATV Light Parade
4:30pm-6pm: Photos and Letters with Santa
6:30: Caroling begins
Starting at 6pm, join us at Marina Activity Center at the Winchester Bay RV Resort. A hot drink booth will be on site to keep your hands warm. Hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and hot coffee will be available to purchase for $1.
Caroling will begin around 6:30pm. We'll be handing out song sheets if you would like to join in!

Advent Sermon Series

1 John 3:16-17:

"Because of Bethlehem"
When: Tuesday, December 5th at 6:00pm
Where: Leaving from the Reedsport Church of God, 2191 Birch Ave, Reedsport

Our Prime Time seniors group invites you on a road trip to see Max Lucado's new movie, "Because of Bethlehem" showing at the Pony Village Cinema. (Transportation provided.)
Based on his bestselling book, this movie encourages audiences to experience the Christmas story from a different perspective, reminding us that the spirit of Christmas is more than a pretty tree with presents piled up underneath. Join Max Lucado with special guests and a variety of star-studded artist performances filmed in Nashville, Tennessee.
The church vans will be departing from the Reedsport Church of God parking lot at 6pm on Tuesday, December 5th to drive to Pony Village Cinema in North Bend. The movie begins at 7pm and is 1hr 45min, so we will return to Reedsport at approximately 9:30pm.

Jingle Jam
When: Sunday, December 10th, 4pm to 6pm
Where: Community Center, 451 Winchester Ave, Reedsport
Everyone is invited to our annual family Christmas party and dinner! It will be an unforgettable festive experience complete with fun, games, music, merriment, and plenty of food.
This year we'll have activities for everyone, a telling of the Christmas story, a special take-home craft, and free family portraits with Santa and Mrs. Claus. We'll start the night with our Jingle Jam kids program and end with our big Christmas dinner.
This event is free and open to everyone in our community whether your attend our church or not. Bring your family or bring yourself. It's a wonderful way to celebrate the season of Christmas!
Reedsport Light Parade
When: Saturday, December 16th, 6pm to 9pm
Where: Starting at the Reedsport Community Charter School and ending at the Lower Umpqua Senior Center
This year the Reedsport Church of God will be joining the Reedsport Light Parade's after party at the Lower Umpqua Senior Center. The parade starts at 6pm at the Reedsport Community Charter School and ends at Rainbow Plaza. The after party at the Lower Umpqua Senior Center will begin around 8pm. Christmas Eve Candlelight Services
When: Sunday, December 24th, 4:30pm & 6pm
Where: Reedsport Church of God, 2191 Birch Ave, Reedsport
Please join us this evening to honor the birth of our Lord Jesus with music, scripture reading, and the tradition of candle lighting.
Our two services at 4:30pm and 6:00pm are identical, each about an hour long. Please come to whichever one you are able to attend.
